EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS CONGRATULATES FORMER BOARD MEMBER
ERIC HOLDER ON HIS APPOINTMENT AS ATTORNEY GENERAL
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Equal Justice Works issued the following statement from Chief Executive Officer David Stern on Eric Holder’s confirmation as Attorney General:

“Eric Holder is an extraordinary lawyer with a deep commitment to the American values of equal justice and rule of law. As an Equal Justice Works board member, he demonstrated a real understanding of the needs of the poor and our most vulnerable citizens and inspired hundreds of young lawyers to pursue careers in public service. We are celebrating his appointment and look forward to his leadership as Attorney General.”

Mr. Holder, who was sworn in as Attorney General earlier today, is a longtime supporter of Equal Justice Works and served on the organization’s board of directors from 2002-2004 and served on the committee for its Annual Awards Dinner in 2005. He is the nation’s first African American Attorney General.
