The Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award, established by the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession in 1991, recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of women lawyers who have excelled in their field and have paved the way to success for other women lawyers. Equal Justice Works board member Ann Claire Williams, is being presented with the 2008 Margaret Brent Award. Her work on the board is also recognized.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts has filed a lawsuit against the Worcester Police Department, claiming city police are on the wrong side of the law when it comes to a public records request.
